If you had lived in Berlin on November 11, 1938, the day after Kristalnacht, would you have published this piece? How about January 31st, 1933 the day after Hitler became Chancellor?

What are you suggesting? Compounding hatred isn’t an answer.

The subversive techniques used by foreign intervention in the 50’s took a generation to destroy the American social and cultural order that we had. Youths indoctrination is the heart of hatred and inability to listen to history or to learn facts regardless of their education.

1. I did not "suggest", I asked questions. You can tell by the "?" at the end of each sentence.

2. The questions were not addressed to you. They were addressed to the author. I am still waiting for an answer.

I appreciate these questions. No, I would not have published this piece on either of those dates, but that is more because those dates don’t resemble the current political climate we’re in, nor do they resemble the time in which Lincoln gave the original speech. I would certainly have published this piece in 1924, after the Beer Hall Putsch and before Hitler’s trial, as I think anyone could see the writing on the wall about what his and the communists’ rhetoric would lead to. I wrote the piece with the hope that maybe we could avoid sliding down the slippery slope of political violence, although I am not so naive as to think that is a likely outcome. I wrote this piece because I would like to avoid what happened in 1933 and 1938, although that may be impossible at this point.
