I live amongst the stars, For they would never mock me, I’ve marched across the dunes, For the words of men still haunt me I’ve been so long marooned, On a sea that’s rough and choppy, Surrounded by the goons, Who speak so rude and sloppy. The tongue of man is dumb, When it’s wasted on a mockery, It could have praised the one, Who gave us verbal properties. For how great is it to speak? The things which you have thought? And how great it is to praise, The gifts that others brought. Why waste one single phrase, On a word without forethought, Considering all the pain, In this world loose lips have wrought, Why would you not refrain, To guard your tongue and stop – Yourself from casting blame, On another person’s job. You could use your words for love, You could speak just to encourage, Do not use the Evil Tongue, It will not help you to flourish. Use your words for truth, Use your words with wisdom, Hurtful words will kill in groups, And leave souls feeling abandoned.
