Their good at breaking things but not good at offering constructive solutions for what will replace it. This is why the American Revolution succeeded and the French Revolution failed. Our founding fathers had something worthwhile to replace British rule with. They had a set of ideals based on those of the Ancient Greeks, Ancient Romans and the Enlightenment. As a result, they created a stable republic where the people were in charge and there were robust checks and balances and different branches of government.
Meanwhile, the French Revolution simply replaced the ancient regime with a secular dictatorship by the Jacobins. They had anyone executed who disagreed with the government in any way. It was during this time in blood and fire of the French Revolution that leftism was born. Eventually they to would be sent to guillotine. It’s like that old saying said “The revolution devours its own children.” The revolution devolved into tyranny and chaos, thus why it failed miserably and led to the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte to as Emperor. This is exactly why liberalism will always beat out leftism every time and why our founding fathers succeeded where Robespierre, Marat and Danton failed. Because the American Revolution had something solid to replace what came before and the French Revolution didn’t. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin we’re all about building, the Jacobins were a rabid band of wolves bent only on destruction and chaos. Not unlike their Antifa descendants.
Was the American republic that the revolution produced perfect? No. But it was successful project in democratic government that has stood the test of time. On another note, Post-Zionism is the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard in my life. Okay, so what would you replace the eternal homeland of the Jewish people with? Where would you have the Jewish people go? Israel is a regional power in the Middle East with one of the best armies in the world. They are would leaders in technology, medicine, engineering, water, agricultural, and environmental conservation. They have the highest birth rate in the western world. They are light years ahead of the Arab and Persian neighbors in living standards, wages, economic and educational opportunity, minority rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, disability inclusion, political and religious freedom, and human rights. Why would you want to get rid of that?
My last point here, what makes you think if we try it this time Communism or socialism will work? Ted’s example of Mao’s horrific Cultural Revolution illustrates this point beautifully.
They had what they called the four olds they were going after. The students who turned on their teachers, employees who turned on their bosses and the those who snitched on family, friends and neighbors created absolute bedlam, in order to ingratiate themselves with their new overlords or due to being swept in idealistic fervor. They destroyed so many invaluable pieces of Chinese history and destroyed anything deemed “antiquated” or “counterrevolutionary.” They crushed the four olds: old ideas, old culture, old customs, and old habits without having a clue what they would replace them with. Destruction is easy, building is hard. I’ll take the four olds any day over the circular firing squads of progressives and leftists. I’m sorry but marriage, monogamy, the nuclear family, liberal democracy, capitalism, pluralism, Judeo-Christian values, the Puritan work ethic, organized religion, and cultural traditions are well-worth keeping alive and are things that shouldn’t be political and that we all left, right and center should be able to agree upon. They are literally the building blocks of our society.
It’s also getting so tiring that the left feels the need to critique everyone and everything. No! We don’t need trigger warnings, safe spaces, equity, censorship, language policing, hate speech laws, call out culture, and all that other junk. We need a culture of free speech, open discourse and equality of opportunity. Jews and Zionists need to be to feel safe in intellectual settings like our universities. That is why I applaud Donald Trump for defunding colleges that don’t live up to federal civil rights laws. I too will always support liberalism and the state of Israel! Am Yisrael Chai! By the way, just so you guys know Karl Marx was a racist, sexist, antisemite, and homophobe.
