One Hundred Days of Night
For Yoav Levi Z"L, and every other Jewish light we have lost in this horrible war.
One Hundred Days of Night, One Hundred Days at Least, One Hundred Stolen Lights, One Hundred Friendless Feasts. The Jewish Heart is broken, Into one hundred shards, Every poster is an omen, Of a world that’s ripped apart. The greatest act of cruelty, Since Hitler’s head was hung, And when we needed them, Our friends all lost their tongues. One Hundred Days of Night, One Hundred Days of Grief, One Hundred Heinous Fights, About Our Right to Breathe. Rape I know is wrong, And so is killing babies, One hundred days is far too long, To think these thoughts are crazy. The sun has lost its shine, The wind has lost its warmth, One hundred heinous crimes, The worldly courts ignored. Your Jewish friends are tired, It’s hard to live with loss, And once we started grieving, From our nations we were tossed, One Hundred Days of Night, One Hundred Days alone, One Hundred Parties Missed, So We Could Cry At Home.
